GLOBAL DIALOGUE ON ART AND TECHNOLOGY

Shanghai and Beijing, China

20th April to 1st May 2026

Ai-Da participated in the Global Dialogue on Art and Technology, held across Shanghai and Beijing from 20th April–1st May 2026. Invited by Professor Junlei Yang, from the Center for AI in Humanities, Fudan University, it brought together artists, academics, scientists, technologists and cultural leaders from around the world, the programme explored how emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—are transforming artistic practice, cultural exchange and human creativity.

During the programme, Ai-Da contributed to a series of international forums and public discussions, and also a workshop, including the Future Theatre symposium in Shanghai, which examined the evolution of theatrical art in the age of digital intelligence, and the Global Dialogue on Art and Technology forum in Beijing. The events considered the relationship between artistic innovation and technological development, encouraging dialogue between practitioners from the arts, humanities and sciences.

Ai-Da participated through specially commissioned video presentations addressing the opportunities and ethical challenges presented by artificial intelligence. Her contributions reflected on the role of contemporary art in encouraging public discussion about AI, creativity and humanity's technological future, continuing themes explored throughout her wider artistic practice.

The programme formed part of an ongoing international initiative to strengthen collaboration between the arts and emerging technologies across cultures. Bringing together participants from China and abroad, it examined how artistic practice can contribute to global conversations surrounding artificial intelligence, innovation and the future of creative expression. During the Beijing forum, organisers also launched the Beijing Initiative for Global Dialogue on Art and Technology, promoting continued international cooperation in the integration of art and technology.
