The world’s largest participatory AI artwork

Curated by Baz Luhrmann and Design Museum Director Tim Marlow in partnership with Bombay Sapphire, the four-day installation invited visitors to explore how artificial intelligence can enrich and enable human creativity through collaboration. The project brought together thousands of creative submissions shared from around the world using the hashtag #SawThisMadeThis, creating what was described as the world's largest mass-participation AI art event.

Throughout the installation, Ai-Da painted live each day, creating a new artwork inspired by a curated selection of photographs, sculptures, prints and other creative works submitted by participants across six continents. Visitors were able to observe her artistic process in real time, exploring questions of inspiration, influence and the relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence.

Reflecting on creativity, Ai-Da said: "As technology increasingly plays a role in our lives, it's important to think about how we can use it creatively and ethically. I believe that creativity is very important. It allows for expression, communication and connection."

The installation marked the beginning of the Saw This, Made This exhibition series, which later travelled to Chelsea Factory in New York. By combining thousands of public creative responses with Ai-Da's artistic practice, the project explored new forms of collaboration between human imagination and artificial intelligence.
