PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

British Library, London

4th April 2022

Ai-Da publicly demonstrated her new robotic painting system for the first time. The event marked the debut of a redesigned robotic arm and a new generation of artificial intelligence algorithms, significantly expanding her ability to produce painted artworks through an increasingly sophisticated artistic process.

The new system enabled Ai-Da to create paintings with greater complexity and expressiveness than her earlier work, representing an important technical and creative development within her artistic practice. By combining computer vision, artificial intelligence and robotic control, the demonstration highlighted the continuing evolution of machine-assisted creativity and its potential to transform contemporary art.

The event also provided an opportunity to discuss the wider implications of emerging technologies for creativity and society. Through the public unveiling of her new painting system, Ai-Da encouraged audiences to consider how advances in artificial intelligence are reshaping artistic practice while prompting broader conversations about human creativity, authorship and the relationship between humans and increasingly capable technologies.
